Key Points
  • RC drilling to start in April (41 holes for 6,850 m) at Kirgella Gift-Providence and Lighthorse
  • Diamond drilling at Kirgella Gift and Providence (4 holes for 1,800 m) to test for extension of high-grade gold mineralisation
  • Aircore drilling over the Laverton Tectonic Zone (LTZ) Flexure target (up to 215 holes for ~10,750 m)
Full Summary

Kalgoorlie Gold Mining (ASX: KAL) is preparing to commence its most extensive drilling programs to date at the Pinjin Gold Project, focused on advancing Kirgella Gift, Providence and Lighthorse, and testing new priority targets across the Laverton Tectonic Zone (LTZ). The planned drilling includes RC drilling (41 holes for 6,850 m) to follow up previous work at Kirgella Gift-Providence and Lighthorse, diamond drilling (4 holes for 1,800 m) to test for extension of high-grade gold mineralisation at depth, and aircore drilling (up to 215 holes for ~10,750 m) over the LTZ Flexure target. The Company is also working on additional programs to provide ongoing operational and scheduling flexibility amidst high drill rig demand, including further aircore and/or RC drilling throughout the Lighthorse Corridor and along the Kirgella-Providence sequence, as well as first pass reconnaissance aircore drilling of outlying targets across the Pinjin Gold Project. KalGold is also working closely with the Kakarra Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) to progress heritage survey coverage and define a Native Title Agreement that will encompass future mining activities.

Outlook

KalGold is accelerating exploration at Pinjin because it sees outstanding potential for project advancement and significant discovery. The upcoming programs expand on recent results at Lighthorse and include deeper RC and diamond drilling to advance the Kirgella Gift-Providence system in support of a future Mineral Resource Estimate update. The Company is also opening new search space to the east with first-pass aircore drilling across the LTZ Flexure, an area entirely concealed by cover which has not previously been tested systematically.
