Ground gravity survey defines drilling targets at Mt McKenna
Key Points
  • New ground gravity survey identifies multiple structural drilling prospects within high-priority exploration Targets 3, 4 and 5
  • Up to 8,000m of Phase 3 aircore drilling planned in late March to test these new prospects
  • More than 20,000m of aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling planned in 2026 across Mt McKenna, Sunrise Bore and Mt Morgans South projects
Full Summary

Platina Resources Limited has identified multiple structural drilling prospects within high-priority exploration Targets 3, 4 and 5 at its Mt McKenna Gold Project in Western Australia following completion of a new ground gravity survey. Subject to cultural heritage surveys being finalised, the company is now planning to conduct up to 8,000m of Phase 3 aircore drilling in late March to test these new prospects. More than 20,000m of aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling is planned in 2026 across the company's Mt McKenna, Sunrise Bore and Mt Morgans South projects which lie within the Laverton Gold District. The new ground gravity survey, integrated with existing geological and geophysical datasets, has provided valuable insights into the subsurface architecture and potential controls on mineralisation. Platina is particularly encouraged by the scale and number of structures identified across Targets 3, 4 and 5 which it now plans to test with Phase 3 aircore drilling. Phase 2 aircore drilling over 4,500m at Target 2 has been temporarily deferred due to drill rig mechanical issues, with approximately 2,000m of drilling completed to date and the remaining 2,500m expected to be completed alongside Phase 3 drilling. Cultural heritage surveys are continuing at newly developed target opportunities to ensure a clear pathway to aircore drilling.

Outlook

Platina plans to conduct up to 8,000m of Phase 3 aircore drilling in late March to test the new prospects identified by the ground gravity survey at its Mt McKenna Gold Project. More than 20,000m of aircore and reverse circulation (RC) drilling is planned across the company's Mt McKenna, Sunrise Bore and Mt Morgans South projects in 2026.
