- Final primary mining approval in place, enabling transition to full-scale operations
- Project construction progressing well, focus on safe and responsible ramp-up to production
Boab Metals Limited ('Boab' or 'the Company') has received approval from the Western Australian Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration ('DMPE') for the Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan for its 100%-owned Sorby Hills Silver-Lead-Zinc Project ('Sorby Hills' or 'the Project') in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. This approval represents a key regulatory milestone for Sorby Hills and paves the way for the commencement of full-scale mining operations. The Project is currently under construction following the Final Investment Decision, with early works and development activities progressing in line with the Project schedule. Receipt of the Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan approval allows Boab to advance toward full mining operations, subject to ongoing compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. The Company's near-term focus remains on construction execution, operational readiness and commissioning activities ahead of first concentrate production. Boab will also continue to progress its work health and safety, environmental management and stakeholder engagement programs to support a safe and responsible ramp-up to operations.
With the final primary mining approval now in place, Boab is focused on delivering the Sorby Hills Project safely, efficiently and in accordance with its environmental and community commitments as it moves toward production, which is expected in the second half of 2027.
