Delorean Secures $30.5M Grants for Bioenergy Facility
- Delorean reaches Final Investment Decision on 100%-owned NSW1 Horsley Park Bioenergy Facility
- Secures $20M grant from NSW Government and $10.5M from ARENA
- Facility to process organic waste, generate renewable gas for Brickworks' brick manufacturing
Delorean Corporation Ltd has reached a positive Final Investment Decision, subject to sourcing $31.6 million in final funding, to progress the landmark $62.1 million NSW1 Horsley Park Bioenergy Facility co-developed with Brickworks Building Products Pty Ltd. The project has secured $20 million from the NSW Government through the Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative grants program and $10.5 million from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) under the National Industrial Transformation Program, providing a direct capital contribution towards construction. The facility, to be constructed on Brickworks' land, will process organic waste diverted from landfills, generating mains grade biomethane piped directly to Brickworks for brick manufacturing, reducing the site's Scope 1 emissions by approximately 38%. Delorean and Brickworks have entered into definitive lease and gas supply agreements, conditional on Delorean achieving financial close within 6 months. Construction is anticipated to commence in Q3 2026, with initial revenues from waste acceptance and first gas within 18 months, and the project expected to generate over $13 million in annual revenue for Delorean.
The project is expected to generate in excess of $13 million of revenue per year for Delorean over the minimum 25-year project life, across multiple revenue streams including gate fees, renewable natural gas, and carbon credits.
The NSW1 Horsley Park Bioenergy Facility is a transformational milestone for Delorean, establishing critical organic waste processing infrastructure and supporting Brickworks' brick manufacturing operations for decades to come. The project sets the position that Delorean's build/own/operate facilities are the future path forward for Australia's gas-reliant industrial and manufacturing sector.
