24% Increase in Taroom Trough Gas Resources
- Independent certification of 662 BCFe of new net 2C Contingent Gas Resources in ATP2057
- Elixir's total 2C Contingent Gas Resources in the Taroom Trough now stand at ~3.5 TCFe
- Upside potential remains with more than 50% of ATP2057 unbooked
Elixir Energy Limited (ASX: EXR) has announced the booking of 662 BCFe of new net 2C Contingent Gas Resources in ATP2057 as part of its acreage position in Queensland's Taroom Trough within the Bowen Basin. This new resource certification from Sproule ERCE comes after the recent completion of the Teelba 225km 2D seismic acquisition over the permit, where fast-tracked processing identified Permian stratigraphy consistent with successful penetrations and production tests from wells to the north, including Elixir's own Lorelle-3/3H. With the addition of these new gas and condensate resources, Elixir's total gas equivalent resources have risen 24%, and the company now estimates a total of 3,455 BCFe (or ~3.5 TCFe) 2C Contingent Gas Resources across its Taroom Trough portfolio. Importantly, the new Contingent Resource is constrained by the top 4 graticular blocks within the permit, meaning that more than 50% of the permit remains as upside where new Resources and Reserves may be certified with future drilling in the area.
The next step for ATP2057 will be the submission of a Potential Commercial Area application (retention license) by permit operator Santos Limited. Elixir also highlighted the upcoming stimulation and testing of the Diona-1 well in ATP2077-D, which could support an additional Resource certification and potentially a Reserve booking.
