Stream sediment sampling defines 5km gold anomaly at Adzope
Key Points
  • Regional stream sediment sampling defines a coherent +5km gold anomaly at the Adzope project
  • High-priority Target 1 anomaly measures 5km x 1.5km with peak of 44ppb gold
  • Secondary Target 2 anomaly measures 2.5km x 1.5km with peak of 33ppb gold
Full Summary

Desert Metals has completed a regional stream sediment sampling program across its 229km2 Adzope gold project in southern Côte d'Ivoire, defining a coherent +5km gold anomaly. The high-priority Target 1 (T1) Central anomaly measures approximately 5km x 1.5km and contains 10 samples at or above 10ppb gold, with a peak value of 44ppb gold. This anomaly sits on a fault-bounded magnetic-high feature along a previously unrecognised NNE-SSW structural trend, and is located only 7km southwest of the company's King Kong prospect where high-grade gold mineralization has been intersected in drilling. A secondary target, Target 2 (T2), measures approximately 2.5km x 1.5km with a peak value of 33ppb gold and sits within the same regional corridor as T1. In total, 116 of 241 samples returned gold values at or above the 1ppb detection limit, with a peak value of 44ppb gold, representing a moderate-to-strong regional BLEG signature for the West African Birimian terrain. Desert Metals will now commence a first-pass soil sampling program over the T1 anomaly to define drill targets, with the T2 anomaly to be assessed for follow-up after the T1 work is completed.

Outlook

Desert Metals will commence a first-pass soil sampling program over the high-priority Target 1 anomaly to define drill targets, with the secondary Target 2 anomaly to be assessed for follow-up after the T1 work is completed.
