OD6 secures rare historical dataset at Quinn Fluorspar project
- OD6 acquires rare historical dataset from Union Carbide for nominal cost
- Dataset includes high-quality drilling, mapping, and metallurgical data
- Accelerates exploration and resource definition at Quinn Fluorspar project
OD6 Metals has announced the completion of a highly strategic acquisition of a rare historical technical dataset covering the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, USA. The dataset was acquired from Union Carbide Corporation, a historically significant US industrial company, for a nominal value representing exceptional value against an estimated replacement cost in excess of A$1.0 million at current market rates. The acquired data includes high-quality scans of cross-sections, maps, and geological records from historical exploration programs, providing OD6 with a significant informational advantage. This rare historical dataset is critical for pinpointing further ultra-high grade fluorspar zones within the Quinn system, eliminating the need to 're-discover' known mineralisation and dramatically accelerating OD6's path to resource definition. Metallurgical testwork is also included in the dataset, further enabling prior works to be utilised for upcoming preliminary metallurgical testwork to assess processing characteristics and support future development studies. The acquisition represents a major de-risking milestone for the Quinn Fluorspar Project and positions OD6 to execute a highly targeted, capital-efficient exploration program at one of North America's most prospective fluorspar assets.
The acquisition of the historical dataset from Union Carbide is expected to materially accelerate OD6's pathway to drilling and resource definition at the Quinn Fluorspar Project. Securing this dataset for a nominal cost substantially reduces the exploration timeline, capital requirements, and overall project risk, providing a compelling outcome for shareholders. The data, in conjunction with OD6's Phase 1 and 2 exploration works, allows the company to move rapidly toward a focused validation drilling program.
