Amplitude Energy Secures Annie Production Licence
- Amplitude Energy receives production licence for the Annie gas field
- First gas from Annie expected in 2028
- All gas from Annie to be supplied to the east coast domestic market
Amplitude Energy Limited (AEL: ASX) has announced that it has received production licence VIC/L37, which covers the discovered Annie gas field. The Annie field was first discovered in 2019, and the company now plans to commence first gas production from the field in 2028. Amplitude Energy highlighted that timely approvals and regulatory certainty are critical for oil and gas projects given the lengthy investment cycle required. All gas produced from the Annie field is expected to be supplied into the east coast domestic market for Australian consumers. The company owns and operates offshore gas fields in Commonwealth waters and onshore processing plants in the Otway and Gippsland Basins, close to Australia's largest gas demand centres, as well as non-operated oil production in the Cooper Basin. Amplitude Energy has a portfolio of long-term customer gas supply contracts, while also retaining exposure to the tight Australian East Coast spot gas markets. The company also holds an extensive portfolio of exploration and development prospects in the Otway and Gippsland Basins, including the undeveloped Manta gas field.
