EcoGraf Appoints NMB Bank for Epanko Project Compensation
- NMB Bank appointed to manage compensation payments and financial literacy training for Project Affected Persons
- Compensation for Mine Access Road enables early works and construction readiness
- Dual access to site reduces execution risk and construction schedule delays
EcoGraf Limited (ASX: EGR) has announced the appointment of NMB Bank Plc ('NMB Bank') to support the compensation payment process for Project Affected Persons ('PAPs'), pursuant to the Resettlement Action Plan ('RAP') for the Epanko Graphite Project. NMB Bank, a leading Tanzanian bank, will create bank accounts for PAPs and deliver financial literacy training prior to making the compensation payments directly into these accounts in accordance with IFC Performance Standards. Commencing compensation for the Mine Access Road represents a key early works activity, enabling mobilization and construction to commence immediately upon EcoGraf's Final Investment Decision. The Mine Access Road will provide reliable, dual access to the site, mitigating wet season constraints and reducing execution risk. EcoGraf has previously mandated KfW IPEX-Bank to arrange a senior secured loan facility of up to US$105 million for the Epanko Project under the German Untied Loan Guarantee scheme.
The appointment of NMB Bank to manage the compensation process and financial literacy training for Project Affected Persons is a significant step towards construction readiness for the Epanko Graphite Project. Completing the compensation for the Mine Access Road will enable immediate mobilization and construction upon EcoGraf's Final Investment Decision, reducing execution risk and potential construction delays.
