Significant High-Grade Discovery at Racetrack Strengthens Norseman Growth Pipeline
- Wide-spaced drilling indicates high-grade zone over 400m strike and 600m depth
- Located 600m north of OK Underground Mine with potential to increase production
- High-grade zone remains open to east and down dip with multiple additional intercepts
Pantoro Gold Limited (ASX:PNR) has announced the discovery of broad high-grade mineralisation at the Racetrack Target within the Norseman Gold Project. The discovery represents a significant addition to Pantoro Gold's pipeline of high-grade ore sources and has the potential to materially uplift production at the OK Underground Mine. Wide-spaced drilling along the Racetrack trend has indicated the presence of a high-grade zone over a current strike of 400 metres, extending from near surface to 600 metres depth. The Racetrack structure is located just 600 metres north of the OK Underground Mine and existing infrastructure, and is interpreted as a cross-link structure analogous to the >500,000 ounce Bullen Reef. The high-grade zone remains open to the east and down dip, with multiple additional intercepts returned from associated splays and parallel structures. Significant intercepts from initial drilling at Racetrack include 8.00 m @ 28.68 g/t Au, 5.00 m @ 28.73 g/t Au, 2.01 m @ 82.99 g/t Au, and 1.53 m @ 40.59 g/t Au. Pantoro Gold is currently drilling an initial 27 hole RC/DD exploration program in the Norseman Mainfield testing early stage targets at Racetrack, Golden Goose and southern extensions to the Crown Reef.
With approximately 1,000 metres of strike between the current results and the Mararoa Reef still to be tested, and the zone remaining open to the east and down dip, Pantoro Gold sees significant upside from the Racetrack discovery. Infill and extensional drilling will be progressed rapidly to bring this target to Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve status as soon as possible.
