Lodestar Expands Potential at Los Loros Porphyry Project
- Five new copper & gold targets identified at the Águila prospect
- Historical drilling confirms potential with 136m @ 0.20% CuEq
- Magnetometry survey identifies key structural controls
Lodestar Minerals has announced the definition of five new targets at the Los Loros Porphyry Cu-Mo-Au Project in Chile following the completion of geophysical surveys across the Águila prospect. The new targets, identified through Induced Polarization (IP) and Magnetotelluric (MT) surveys, range from 150m to 800m below surface and align with the surface work completed across the area. The largest and highest chargeability anomaly, IP1, is interpreted as a potential sulphide-rich pyritic core that could be the margin of a main copper porphyry ore body. Historical drilling on the edge of this target returned 136m @ 0.20% CuEq, indicating significant potential laterally and at depth.Other targets include IP2, a high resistivity anomaly with shallow high-grade gold and copper potential, and IP3-IP5, which cover the northern and western parts of the Águila prospect and have not been tested by historical drilling. The magnetometry survey also provided valuable insights, identifying the main NNW Santa Gracia fault and its conjugate NE faults, which control the location of mineralization and different levels of exhumation of the original porphyry system.Lodestar is now planning its maiden drilling program at Los Loros, which will target the copper-molybdenum porphyry as well as the high-grade epithermal gold system. The company also provided an update on its Three Saints IOCG project in Chile, where the latest diamond drilling has encountered encouraging skarn-type alteration and mineralization, similar to the Candelaria IOCG deposit in the region.
Lodestar is planning its maiden drilling program at the Los Loros project, which will target the newly identified copper-molybdenum porphyry and high-grade epithermal gold targets. At the Three Saints IOCG project, the company will review the newly acquired data and plan the next phase of diamond drilling to test the potential copper-rich core of the system.
