Full Summary

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has released its March 2026 Basel III Pillar 3 disclosures, reporting on the Group's capital adequacy, risk-weighted assets (RWA), leverage and liquidity ratios. As at 31 March 2026, CBA's Basel III Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1), Tier 1 and Total Capital ratios were 11.6%, 13.1% and 20.0% respectively. The Group's CET1 ratio increased by 7 basis points in the quarter after allowing for the impact of the 2026 interim dividend. This increase was driven by capital generated from earnings, partly offset by a net increase in total RWAs and other regulatory adjustments. Total RWA increased by $12.2 billion or 2.4% on the prior quarter to $517.5 billion, driven by higher IRRBB RWA and Credit risk RWA, partly offset by lower Traded Market Risk RWA. CBA's leverage ratio, defined as Tier 1 Capital as a percentage of total exposures, was 4.4% as at 31 March 2026, down from 4.7% in the prior quarter primarily due to the impact of the 2026 interim dividend and higher exposures, partly offset by capital generated from earnings. The Group's Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) remained strong at 133% and 116% respectively.
