Barton Gold Holdings Limited (ASX:BGD) has announced new assay results from the Challenger Gold Project in South Australia. The assays confirm significant mineralisation at the Challenger South-Southwest (SSW) and Challenger 3 targets, with high-grade assays up to 170 g/t Au in the 'Main' open pit and 60 g/t Au in the 'Challenger West' open pit. These results support the potential for a new JORC (2012) Mineral Resource Estimate at Challenger 3. The company is currently conducting a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) targeting a viable Stage 1 operation to restart the Central Gawler Mill (CGM) and maximize development optionality. The DFS aims to utilize higher-grade tailings from tailings storage facility 1 (TSF1) and limited near-surface materials without disturbing Challenger's historical high-grade underground mine. The DFS also considers the development of new open pits at Challenger SSW and Challenger 3.
