OD6 Metals Historic Testwork Indicates Acidspar Potential
- Historic testwork shows potential to produce acid-grade fluorspar
- Conventional grinding and flotation identified as effective methods
- Modern metallurgical testing planned to validate historical results
- OD6 to apply for bulk sample permits to support testing
- Management sees potential for Quinn to become a US fluorspar source
OD6 Metals Ltd. reports that historic metallurgical testwork completed by Union Carbide Corporation on fluorspar mineralisation from the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, USA, indicates potential to produce acid-grade fluorspar. The testwork, conducted in 1957, achieved a concentrate grade of 97.83% CaF2 at 70% recovery from Mammoth mineralisation. Conventional grinding and flotation were identified as effective processing methods. OD6 plans to validate these results with modern metallurgical testing, including optical ore sorting with TOMRA and flotation optimisation, expected to commence this quarter. The company also intends to apply for bulk sample permits to support these advanced metallurgical testworks.
OD6 plans to validate historic testwork results with modern metallurgical testing, aiming to optimize processing flowsheets and potentially reduce future program scope and costs.
