Lithium Universe Limited (ASX: LU7) has announced a comprehensive development program for its Gold Copper Diamide Extraction (GCDE) technology, acquired from the University of Edinburgh. The program includes reviewing existing research, sourcing optimal e-waste feedstocks, optimizing particle size and flowability, and comparing different leaching systems. The GCDE process aims to recover gold and copper from e-waste under mild conditions, avoiding high temperatures and hazardous reagents. The company plans to optimize various process stages, including gold and copper recovery circuits, reagent recycling, and environmental management systems. Additionally, pilot plant design and commercial scalability studies will be advanced. The commercialization program will focus on establishing supply chains, product offtake strategies, and market opportunities for the technology.
