1414 Degrees Ltd (ASX: 14D) has announced significant progress in its Aurora Energy Precinct project, a large renewable energy and battery energy storage (BESS) site in South Australia. The project has completed all technical requirements set by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and is now in commercial power transmission access negotiations with ElectraNet. Aurora is strategically positioned near ElectraNet's 275 kV transmission infrastructure, offering significant advantages for connecting battery energy storage, solar generation, and thermal storage systems to the National Electricity Market (NEM). The project is attracting interest from major hyperscalers and AI infrastructure companies, including Anthropic, which require large-scale, reliable, low-carbon electricity. Aurora combines high-voltage transmission proximity, contracted water supply, fibre connectivity, and Crown Sponsorship on a 16 km² site, making it one of the few undeveloped sites in Australia capable of meeting these requirements at utility scale.
The Company looks forward to providing further updates on the Aurora Energy Precinct project and its potential for significant investment from data centre and BESS groups.
