Cynata Therapeutics Limited has reported the top-line results from the Phase 3 SCUlpTOR trial of CYP-004, an iPSC-derived MSC product for osteoarthritis of the knee. The trial, conducted by the University of Sydney, found no safety concerns and no statistically significant differences between the active and control groups in the primary endpoints. However, the pain reduction in the control group was higher than expected, and there was no evidence of a reduction in cartilage loss. Cynata's CEO, Dr. Kilian Kelly, expressed disappointment and announced a review of further development options for the Cymerus technology.

Cynata Therapeutics is reviewing options for further development of the Cymerus technology following the disappointing results of the CYP-004 trial.
