Forrestania Resources Limited (ASX: FRS) has announced its agreement to acquire the Edna May Gold Project from Ramelius Resources Limited for a total consideration of A$300 million. The acquisition includes A$210 million in cash and A$90 million in Forrestania shares. Upon completion, expected in Q3 2026, Ramelius will become an approximate 9.6% shareholder in Forrestania. The acquisition is expected to fast-track Forrestania's hub-and-spoke gold production strategy and enhance its operational flexibility. The Edna May Mill, with a targeted capacity of 2.9 million tonnes per annum, has been on care and maintenance since April 2025, with all plant and infrastructure remaining in place. Forrestania plans to restart the mill in H1 2027, initially using ore from its existing resources. The acquisition is consistent with Forrestania's strategy to supply Edna May with ore from its existing proximate Mineral Resources.
