Galilee Energy Limited (ASX: GLL) has officially spudded the Zydeco-1 well in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, marking the commencement of its first US Gulf Coast drilling campaign. The well, targeting a large conventional gas-condensate target, is designed to test the Upper and Lower Tweedle formations. Drilling will first establish a secure wellbore by setting casing at specific depths, followed by deeper drilling and logging while drilling. The next material update is expected following electric logging of the Tweedle formations, which will confirm whether hydrocarbon pay and commercial reservoir quality are present. If confirmed, Galilee plans to move into completion, surface facilities, and pipeline tie-in in August 2026, subject to operational progress and results.
