Lynas Rare Earths Ltd (ASX: LYC) has signed a partnership agreement with JS Link, Inc. to develop a rare earth permanent magnet factory in Kuantan, Malaysia. Under the agreement, JS Link will establish the factory with a capacity of 3000 tonnes per annum of NdFeB permanent sintered magnets. Lynas will invest approximately A$50 million in JS Link, which will be used for the construction of the factory. Lynas will also supply rare earth materials to the JS Link factory in South Korea and the new Malaysian factory until January 2038. The factory is expected to create up to 400 new jobs and supply magnets to automotive, wind energy, and electronics manufacturing supply chains in Korea, Malaysia, and other key markets.
