PYC Therapeutics Ltd has announced positive updates from its ADOA program, highlighting the drug candidate PYC-001. Studies in non-human primates demonstrated a sustained increase in target gene expression in the retina 4 months after a single dose of PYC-001. Additionally, patients in the ongoing Phase 1/2 clinical trials showed sustained improvements in visual acuity and decreased retinal stress. The data supports extending the dosing interval in the clinical trials from every 2-3 months to once every 4 months. The company is also exploring the drug's potential in other blinding eye diseases such as glaucoma.
