GR Engineering Services Limited (ASX:GNG) has been awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract by BHP Iron Ore Pty Ltd, acting on behalf of the participants in the Yandi joint venture, for the Yandi Eastern Front-End Facility Upgrade. This upgrade is a key component of the broader Ministers North Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The contract involves a brownfield upgrade of the Yandi Eastern primary crushing circuit, including the installation of a new 20 Mtpa two-stage crushing plant to feed ore into the existing Yandi operations. The total contract sum is $229.5 million. GR Engineering has already initiated early engineering works and ordered long-lead items. Paradigm Engineers, a subsidiary of GR Engineering's process controls business, will provide specialist electrical and instrumentation services. The project is subject to regulatory approvals.
