Cauldron Energy Ltd has announced the results of its latest passive seismic survey, which has successfully delineated a previously undiscovered arm of the Manyingee South palaeochannel. This new arm is approximately 1km wide and extends upstream for at least 3km, where it splits into three branches. Additionally, the survey identified a substantial tributary heading south to southwest from the junction, extending for a further 2km upstream. These findings further expand the known palaeochannel system within Cauldron's Yanrey Project, which already contains five known sandstone-hosted palaeochannel uranium deposits. Cauldron estimates that it has surveyed only ~20% of the Yanrey Project area so far, with 20+ additional palaeochannels yet to be tested.

The discovery of a large extension to the Manyingee South palaeochannel further expands the known palaeodrainage system and indicates that the palaeochannel system at Yanrey is prolific and far larger and more complex than originally understood.
