Galilee Energy Limited has announced that drilling at the Zydeco-1 well in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, has confirmed the geological model, resulting in the identification of three targets: Homeseeker B, Stafford, and the primary Upper and Lower Tweedel. The drilling encountered gas readings in the Stafford interval that exceeded the upper limit of the rig's detector. The sequence drilled matched the pre-drill model, which increases confidence in the position of the Tweedel target. Drilling was interrupted at 9,393 feet by stuck pipe, but the surface casing, wellhead, drilling location, and permits remain intact. A sidetrack from the existing well is planned to bypass the affected section and re-drill Homeseeker B and Stafford before continuing to the primary Tweedel targets. The sidetrack is designed to maximize the use of existing infrastructure and reduce exposure to lost-circulation issues. The Company's immediate priorities are to finalize the sidetrack design, drilling cost, and contractor arrangements, and mobilize to commence sidetrack drilling.
