ECT Signs Metallium Deal to Fast-Track MXenes Production
- ECT enters 12-month R&D agreement with Metallium
- Access to Metallium's FJH reactor in Texas
- Agreement aims to accelerate MXenes production development
Environmental Clean Technologies Limited (ASX: ECT) has entered into a 12-month research and development agreement with Metallium Ltd (ASX: MTM) to fast-track the development of its MXenes production technology. Under the agreement, ECT will gain access to Metallium's Gator Point Facility in Texas, where Metallium has successfully commissioned and validated its proprietary Flash Joule Heating (FJH) reactor platform. The deal aims to accelerate ECT's MXenes production strategy by leveraging Metallium's established infrastructure and engineering expertise, thereby reducing the time and capital required for independent development. Metallium will provide research, development, and engineering services, as well as controlled access to its reactor technology. ECT will pay an upfront fee of US$500,000, a quarterly operational service fee of US$225,000, and issue Metallium 20 million options. Any MXenes produced will be owned by ECT, while improvements to Metallium's technology will remain with Metallium. The agreement also includes a provision for ECT and Metallium to negotiate a potential long-term commercial-licence agreement.
