Augustus Minerals Updates on Music Well Gold Project Drilling
- Assay results show high-grade gold intersections at Clifton East
- MWRC0019 hit 19.5g/t gold from 73-74m
- New RC drilling planned to target higher grade veins
- Assays from diamond core hole MWD0001 expected in 5-6 weeks
Augustus Minerals (ASX: AUG) has reported significant gold intersections from the June drilling program at the Clifton East prospect in the Music Well Gold Project. The drilling confirmed the presence of a significant alteration and gold mineralized system, with MWRC0019 intersecting 19.5g/t gold from 73-74m, the highest grade to date. The June RC results also included 8m at 3.27g/t gold from 72m in MWRC0019, 12m at 0.94g/t gold from 39m in MWRC0015, and 3m at 1.06g/t gold from 36m in MWRC0016. Gold mineralization is associated with pervasive hematite, distal chlorite-epidote, and proximal silica-carbonate-pyrite alteration. Structural measurements from diamond core hole MWD0001 indicated that higher grades appear to be related to pyritic quartz veins, interpreted to be dipping steeply. Assays from MWD0001 are expected within 5-6 weeks. A new RC drilling program to test for oblique higher grade quartz vein zones is planned to commence in two to three weeks pending access after recent rain.
