Viking Mines Announces Wide Scheelite Zones at Linka Tungsten Project
- First drilling in 40 years at Linka Project
- Multiple zones of strong disseminated scheelite mineralisation
- Visual estimates show significant widths of scheelite
- First assay results expected in 4-6 weeks
Viking Mines Limited (ASX: VKA) has reported strong visual intercepts of scheelite at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, USA, marking the first drilling in 40 years. The initial drilling program has intersected multiple zones of strong disseminated scheelite mineralisation hosted within tactite over significant widths. Company geologists identified scheelite visually by its fluorescence under shortwave ultraviolet (UV) light (254nm). Drilling intercepts include LKRC0002 with a 12m interval of visible scheelite from 40m downhole, LKRC0003 with 13m of visible scheelite over a 19m horizon from 9m downhole, and LKRC0004 with 11m of visible scheelite over a 21m horizon from 3m downhole. The first batch of samples is being prepared for dispatch to ALS Laboratories in Reno, Nevada, with first assay results expected in approximately 4-6 weeks.
