Viking Mines Confirms High-Grade Tungsten from Ore Sorting
- Ore sorting technology successfully upgraded tungsten feed grade by up to 4.2x
- High-grade products achieved up to 93.0% tungsten recovery
- Results inform potential incorporation into Linka Project processing flowsheet
Viking Mines Limited (ASX: VKA) has reported successful assay results for ore sorting testwork conducted on mineralized material from the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, USA. The testwork, completed by TOMRA using X-ray Transmission (XRT) technology, produced high-grade tungsten products. The Conquest Pit sample achieved a high-grade product with 1.91% WO3, approximately 3.1 times the feed grade of 0.61% WO3, and tungsten recoveries up to 93.0%. Similarly, the Linka Pit sample produced a high-grade product with 1.83% WO3, about 4.1 times the feed grade of 0.45% WO3, and tungsten recoveries up to 85.9%. The results demonstrate the potential for ore sorting to upgrade existing surface stockpiles and reject waste material, which will be further assessed through ongoing gravity and flotation testwork at Base Met Labs.
