Trek Metals Ltd has announced outstanding high-grade assay results from its Kuro prospect in Western Australia, confirming a significant shallow manganese discovery. The second batch of laboratory assays from the maiden Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program returned multiple high-grade intercepts, with 28 of the 50 Phase 1 holes assayed to date returning significant manganese intercepts above 5% Mn, including 16 holes with intercepts averaging above 20% Mn. Notable results include a standout intercept of 7m @ 40.2% Mn from 7m in hole 26XCRC026, within a 14m @ 23.6% Mn from 6m. The mineralisation is characterised by low iron and very low phosphorus, with intercepts averaging 20% Mn returning 27.0% Mn at 3.28% Fe for an Mn:Fe ratio of 8.3:1. Phase 2 drilling has commenced, targeting key IP anomalies over a larger area than Phase 1. The company is also conducting a high-resolution fixed-wing magnetic survey and a Sub-Audio Magnetic (SAM) survey to aid in drill targeting.
