Emvision Medical Devices Limited (ASX:EMV) has announced the successful completion of Stage 1 of the Pre-Hospital Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) Study, which aimed to evaluate the usability and workflow of its First Responder brain scanner in real-world scenarios. The study, conducted in collaboration with the Melbourne Mobile Stroke Unit, involved 10 participants and demonstrated the scanner's versatility in various settings, including residences, ambulances, and workplaces. The average scan time was 6.7 minutes, and there were no device-related adverse events. Operator feedback was highly positive, with 100% of responses rating the scanner operation as easy. The findings from this study are being integrated into the next-generation, production equivalent First Responder units, which are lighter and more efficient. Additionally, Emvision has received a progress payment of $650,437 under its Industry Growth Program (IGP) and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Australian Stroke Alliance to jointly pursue research and translational funding for pre-hospital stroke diagnosis.
