Bathurst Resources Limited (ASX: BRL) has advised that on 18 December 2024, it received copies of a statement of claim from Talley's Group Limited (a BRL shareholder) (TGL). The statement of claim sets out the basis of TGL's claims against Bathurst, its directors and a further party, and is purported to have been brought under the Companies Act 1993 (New Zealand) and Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (New Zealand). Additionally, TGL has filed a separate application for leave to bring derivative proceedings in the name of and on behalf of Bathurst.Bathurst is currently reviewing the claims with the assistance of external legal counsel to understand them. The company will report to the market when this process has been completed and a statement of defence and counter-claim has been filed.
