Tyre Distributor NTD Receives Termination Notices for Dunlop Brand

It's been a bit of a shakeup in the tyre industry, with NTD, the largest independent tyre and wheel distributor in Australia and New Zealand, receiving termination notices for its Dunlop distribution agreements from Goodyear. This comes after Goodyear announced the sale of the Dunlop brands to Sumitomo Rubber Industries.

NTD is now reviewing the termination notices, noting that the completion of the Dunlop sale is still subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions. The company has an established relationship with Sumitomo through the Dunlop distribution agreements, as well as distributing Falken brand tyres in New Zealand. NTD also has an ongoing partnership with Goodyear as the exclusive distributor of Cooper and Mickey Thompson tyres.

Westgold Boosts Gold Production in Q2

Over in the mining sector, Westgold Resources reported a nice uptick in gold production for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025. The company produced 80,886 ounces of gold, up from 77,369 ounces in the previous quarter.

Westgold is continuing to ramp up operations at its Bluebird and Beta-Hunt underground mines, with a focus on increasing grade and consistency. The company is also on track to bring its Great Fingall mine near Cue into production in the fourth quarter of this year.

Looking ahead, Westgold expects further production increases in the second half of FY25, in line with its guidance. The company is also advancing plant expansion studies to drive down long-term costs and is actively drilling to extend the life of its mines.

Adisyn Completes Acquisition of 2D Generation

In the tech world, Adisyn Ltd has completed its acquisition of semiconductor IP company 2D Generation. This is a significant move for Adisyn, as 2DG has developed a patented solution enabling graphene coating at low temperatures, a breakthrough that could revolutionize the next generation of semiconductors.

The 2DG founder, Arye Kohavi, will be joining the Adisyn board as a non-executive director. Adisyn is now gearing up for an exciting 2025 as it works to further develop and refine the newly acquired semiconductor technology, including collaborating with leading chip companies and bringing on experienced semiconductor talent.

Merchant House Receives Funds from Tianxing Sale

And finally, Merchant House International has received the final settlement funds of US$4.9 million from the sale of its 33.79% stake in Tianxing. The sale was completed through the company's subsidiary, Forsan Limited, and the buyer, Tianjin Wuxi.

The board of Merchant House has authorized this announcement, confirming that the sale process has now been wrapped up and the funds have been received.
