Resmed Delivers Strong FY2026 Results and Boosts Shareholder Returns

Resmed Inc wrapped up fiscal 2026 on a high note, reporting a 9% jump in fourth-quarter revenue to $1.5 billion, with an 8% increase when adjusted for currency fluctuations. The healthcare technology company's bottom line also impressed, with GAAP diluted earnings per share climbing 2% to $2.64, while non-GAAP diluted EPS surged 16% to $2.95.

The full-year picture looks even better. Resmed's 2026 revenue reached $5.7 billion, up 10% from the prior year, while gross margins expanded meaningfully—GAAP gross margin improved 170 basis points to 61.1%, and non-GAAP gross margin jumped 240 basis points to 62.4%. Perhaps most notably, the company returned $1.0 billion to shareholders through buybacks and dividends during the year, more than 70% higher than the previous year.

Looking ahead, Resmed is getting even more generous with shareholders. The company declared a 10% increase in its quarterly dividend to $0.66 per share, with an ex-date of August 19, 2026, a record date of August 20, 2026, and payment scheduled for September 24, 2026. For fiscal 2027, Resmed expects to return more than $1.85 billion to shareholders through the same combination of buybacks and dividends.

Nick Scali Accelerates Growth Amid Retail Headwinds

Furniture retailer Nick Scali Ltd demonstrated resilience in a challenging retail environment, posting a 22% surge in net profit after tax to $75.7 million for FY26, despite a modest 4.3% revenue increase to $516.7 million. The company's gross margin expanded 2.1% to 65.6%, and operating cash flows jumped 33.7% to $154.4 million.

The Australia and New Zealand division led the charge, with revenue climbing 5.1% and gross margin improving 100 basis points to 66.0%. The UK business, while still operating at a loss, showed encouraging signs with gross margin reaching 60.3%. Written sales orders in the UK surged 55.5% to $45.0 million, signaling strong momentum heading into the new financial year.

Nick Scali declared a fully franked final dividend of 39 cents per share and announced plans for continued expansion, with new store openings planned in both Australia and the UK. The company finished the year with $106.6 million in cash on hand and net cash of $34.9 million after borrowings. For the first five weeks of FY27, ANZ written sales orders are tracking flat, while the UK is expected to see a 35% increase.

Lycopodium Lands Major Canadian Mining Contract

Engineering and project management firm Lycopodium Limited secured an approximately A$93 million Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management contract for Artemis Gold's Expanded Phase 2 project at the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia. The expansion will add 13 million tonnes per annum of throughput capacity, bringing the mine's total capacity to 21 million tonnes per annum. Commercial production at Blackwater began in May 2025, and Lycopodium has already been involved in earlier development stages and Phase 1A EPCM services.

NZME Invests in Print Operations Efficiency

New Zealand media company NZME Limited finalized an agreement to acquire Stuff's Petone plant equipment, with total investment expected to reach up to $15 million over two years. The more efficient equipment—about a third the size of NZME's current plant—is anticipated to deliver around $7 million in annual operating savings once installed, with cashflow payback expected within three years. The new equipment will be installed at a new facility by the end of 2028 and will also enable NZME to offer third-party print services throughout the North Island.
