Top End Energy (ASX: TEE) has announced the appointment of Luke Velterop as the company's new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Velterop joined the company in December 2024 as part of the acquisition of Serpentine Energy Pty Ltd, where he served as the Founding Director. He brings leadership experience in the U.S. natural hydrogen sector, having previously worked as the Chief Operating Officer at HyTerra. Velterop has a professional background in geology, oil and gas drilling operations, project management, and new energy projects, starting his career in the oil and gas exploration and production industry before shifting his focus to clean hydrogen opportunities in 2020. Top End Energy's Chairman, Patrick Burke, commented that Velterop's strategic vision in the natural hydrogen sector was a key factor in the decision to acquire Serpentine Energy, and that his experience across both traditional and emerging energy sectors, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset, make him the ideal fit to lead the company's next phase of growth. Velterop is also a substantial shareholder in TEE, holding approximately 10% of the ordinary shares on issue, further underscoring his commitment to the company's long-term success.
