Activeport Group Ltd (ASX:ATV) has announced a successful negotiation of a contract to deliver its innovative software-defined network (SDN) orchestration technology to Telekom Malaysia Berhad (Telekom Malaysia or TM), Malaysia's leading integrated telecommunications provider and one of Southeast Asia's largest fixed-line operators. This high-profile opportunity will see Activeport's software deployed to enable Telekom Malaysia's ambition to evolve into a global digital platform provider using software-defined-networking techniques. Telekom Malaysia is embarking on a foundational shift to deliver fixed-line services via a customer self-service online portal, which will achieve faster time to market, seamless service activation and greater operational scalability by digitising the customer journey and embedding automation at its core. Activeport's software will be deployed in-house on TM's cloud in Kuala Lumpur, orchestrating a switch fabric deployed by Activeport as an overlay service across TM's core network. This transformative project will enable Telekom Malaysia to offer a digital marketplace for their ethernet, internet and cloud products, create new revenue streams, and enhance the customer experience via instant-on automation, self-service provisioning, traffic management and performance monitoring.
The contract is priced per point of presence (PoP), with a basic fee per month plus a variable rate for orchestrated traffic for each active PoP. The total contract value to Activeport is USD $541,678 over 3 years for the first five PoPs, one in each of five cities.
Activeport anticipates no material additional overhead to deliver the services, and will invoice the prime contractor, Radian Arc Limited, monthly in USD for this and any additional variable amounts due.
