Alcidion Group Limited has announced the signing of a contract expansion with North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) to deliver MediViewer as an expansion to the Miya Precision Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution, providing seamless access to scanned and historical documents in clinical workflows. This contract expands Alcidion's current engagement with NCIC, which is to provide the Miya Precision EPR to the trust, enhancing digital maturity and supporting clinicians to deliver high-quality, safe patient care. The inclusion of the MediViewer capability will align with the digitisation of clinical workflows that NCIC are adopting through the use of Miya Precision. Mizaic's MediViewer is an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) which will digitise the trust's paper records, making them accessible directly in the Miya Precision EPR. This approach means all patient records are accessible through a single user interface, whether recorded directly in Miya Precision or uploaded using a market-leading healthcare-specific EDMS. The solution was chosen for its proven, healthcare-specific, intuitive design and strong clinical usability, offering enhanced user experience, intelligent indexing, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, helping clinicians locate the right documents quickly and with confidence. MediViewer is already in use by more than 20 trusts, including a number within the NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board. The decision to implement the solution aligns NCIC with regional convergence across the ICB, enabling the clinical team's visibility of scanned documents in neighbouring Trusts within the ICS. The total contract value (TCV) for the expansion is ~$6.8M over a period of ~9.4 years, aligning with the current 10-year contract period for the Miya Precision EPR.
