Key Points
  • Multiple high priority targets identified at 100% owned Bortala Copper Project
  • Two high priority gold and base metals prospects - R9 Anomaly and Nara West Prospect
  • Potential for regional scale gold and base metal mineralisation, including IOCG, sediment hosted and structural hosted copper
Full Summary

Aruma Resources has confirmed multiple new, priority exploration targets at its 100%-owned Bortala Project in the northern Mt Isa region of Queensland. The targets have been generated from a comprehensive technical review of historical exploration data. The R9 Anomaly and Nara East Prospect have been identified as the initial highest priority exploration targets at Bortala, while an additional four priority targets have also been identified across the project area. The R9 Anomaly was initially defined by Ashton Mining Limited in 1989 through soil geochemical sampling, identifying a north-south-trending copper anomaly. Historical drilling at the prospect returned significant intercepts including 14m at 0.21% Cu, 2m at 0.25g/t Au, 4m at 0.36% Pb, and 5m at 0.44% Zn. The newly identified Nara East Prospect is situated approximately 4km southeast of the Capricorn Copper Mine and is interpreted to represent a structurally complex domain with favourable architecture for the development of structurally controlled copper mineralisation. Aruma plans to undertake detailed soil sampling programs at both the R9 Anomaly and Nara East Prospect to refine the targets for planned first-phase drilling. The company is targeting potential regional scale gold and base metal mineralisation, including iron oxide copper gold (IOCG), sediment hosted and structural hosted copper.
