Clean TEQ Secures Engineering Contract with Sunrise Energy Metals
- Awarded A$665,160 contract by Sunrise Energy Metals
- Contract covers updates to Resin-In-Pulp and refinery circuits
- Supports Sunrise's Final Investment Decision for Syerston Scandium Project
Clean TeQ Water Limited (ASX: CNQ) has been awarded a contract by Sunrise Energy Metals Limited (ASX: SRL) valued at A$665,160 to update key engineering elements of the Syerston Scandium Project in New South Wales, Australia. The contract involves updating and refining designs from the 2016 and 2025 feasibility studies, focusing on the continuous Resin-in-Pulp (cRIP), underpinned by MBIX (Moving Bed Ion Exchange) technology and the refinery circuits. These updates will inform Sunrise's Final Investment Decision (FID) and form part of the broader investment readiness package. The work will be completed within 16 weeks from commencement, with delivery expected in May 2026. The Syerston Scandium Project hosts one of the world's largest and highest-grade primary scandium resources, and Sunrise Energy Metals has recently announced a material increase in scandium inventory, which it has stated substantially enhances the project economics. Clean TeQ Water's appointment reflects both companies' long-standing technical collaboration and deep expertise in critical metals recovery.
Subject to Sunrise reaching a positive Final Investment Decision, Clean TeQ Water is well positioned to participate in any future engagement for engineering, procurement and construction activities associated with the Syerston Scandium Project. No commitment currently exists for Clean TeQ Water to provide these services, and so would be subject to separate contractual arrangements and approvals.
