Lindian Resources has announced a project update for the Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi, highlighting significant progress on construction and procurement activities. The company has achieved a major safety milestone of 200,000 LTI-free work hours on site. Lindian has also placed orders for critical long-lead plant packages, including the SAG mill, thickener and flocculation plant, shaking tables, and belt filters, which will materially strengthen schedule certainty and construction readiness. The company's owner-operator Komatsu mining fleet is actively executing key enabling works, such as haul roads, platform formation, and earthworks, to maintain momentum and reduce reliance on third-party contractors. Multiple work fronts are now running in parallel across bulk earthworks, site access, and trafficable platform preparation to support the transition into the main construction phase. The master schedule remains the focus, with key milestones including process plant construction and mine stripping in February 2026, first blast in April 2026, grid power energization in July 2026, and first ore feed and first concentrate targeted for November 2026. The Tailings Storage Facility program is also underway, with the owner-operator fleet being utilized for earthworks to support a disciplined, lower-CAPEX execution approach. Non-process infrastructure, including the 90-person Tipume camp, administration buildings, site medical clinic, and security buildings, are also progressing to support workforce mobilization and operational readiness.
