Mineralogy Confirms High-Grade HREE as Xenotime at Virgin Mt
- Xenotime confirmed as dominant REE-bearing mineral, indicating Heavy Rare Earth potential
- Xenotime hosts high proportions of critical elements dysprosium, terbium and lutetium
- Confirmation of xenotime elevates the project's strategic value and positions it for funding and partnership opportunities
Lodestar Minerals has received mineralogy results from rock chip samples at its 100% owned Virgin Mountain Heavy Rare Earth Project in Arizona, USA. The results confirm xenotime as the dominant REE-bearing mineral, indicating the project has significant potential for heavy rare earth elements (HREEs), particularly the high-value elements dysprosium, terbium and lutetium. Xenotime is one of the only HREE-dominant minerals with a proven commercial processing pathway. The confirmation of xenotime elevates the project's strategic value and positions it well for funding and partnership opportunities. The mineralized shear zone has been mapped over a 5km strike length, and upcoming work will focus on determining the extent and consistency of mineralization along this structure. The exploration team will return in April to compile geophysical data, map the shear zone, and identify further outcropping mineralization for future drill planning.
Lodestar will return to the Virgin Mountain project in April to progress exploration, including compiling geophysical data, mapping the 5km-long mineralized shear zone, and identifying further outcropping mineralization to plan future drilling.
