Viking Mines Limited has announced that a field team has mobilized to the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, USA, to execute a multi-faceted program designed to quantify the historical ore stockpiles and tailings dam. The technical workstream incorporates grid-sampling the historical tailings dam to determine both tungsten grade and tailings dam thickness, enabling the company to calculate the volume and grade of the tailings to assess the potential for reprocessing as a low-cost supplemental plant feedstock. Simultaneously, the team is sampling the historical stockpiles to confirm grade consistency and determine stockpile tonnage, with the strategic intent to assess viability for early processing via toll treatment or pilot plant to produce concentrate samples for potential offtake partners. The company has also initiated the collection of additional metallurgical samples to support the ongoing Processing Concept Study, including tests to define the operational expenditure profile of the project and ensure modular plant scalability. Field activity also includes initial ground-truthing of high-priority targets identified via the 3D geological model and recent geophysics, with a phase 2 program scheduled for late April to include detailed mapping, trench sampling, and drill site investigation. Viking is targeting the commencement of drilling at the Linka Project in the June quarter.

Viking is fast-tracking the Linka Tungsten Project through multiple workstreams, with immediate near-term activity including the completion of field work to sample the historical tailings dam and stockpiles, the commencement of the phase 2 field program, the completion and reporting of the 3D geological model, the lodging of a Notice of Intent for the maiden drilling program, and the ongoing metallurgical testwork.
