Drilling Commences at Barbara Copper-Gold Project
- Breakthrough Minerals commences maiden diamond drilling program at Barbara Copper-Gold Project
- Initial ~1,500m program targets down-plunge extensions of high-grade copper-gold mineralization
- Priority BARC071 target with 2.0m @ 2.1% Cu to be followed up
Breakthrough Minerals Limited (ASX: BTM) has commenced its maiden diamond drilling program at the Barbara Copper-Gold Project (BCGP), marking a significant operational milestone just over three weeks after completing the acquisition of the North Queensland Copper-Gold Project (QCGP). The initial ~1,500m program is designed to test down-plunge extensions of copper-gold mineralization at Barbara North and South, with the objective of growing the existing Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 6.5Mt @ 0.97% CuEq. Key targets include depth extensions below previously reported high-grade intersections of up to 17m @ 2.5% Cu. The program will also follow up on the priority BARC071 target, which intersected 2.0m @ 2.1% Cu approximately 100m north of the Barbara North Pit, on the same shear structure controlling mineralization. Selected holes will be surveyed using downhole electromagnetic (EM) techniques to identify additional EM conductor targets beyond the current resource boundary. Upon completion of the Barbara program, drilling will extend to the Lillymay Prospect and other EM targets as part of the broader +4,500m 2026 exploration campaign across the QCGP. The Company is well-funded and committed to rapid execution and value creation for shareholders through systematic exploration and resource growth.
The Company is confident this drilling program at Barbara marks the beginning of a highly productive 2026 exploration campaign across the entire North Queensland portfolio, with potential for near-term resource growth.
