- First results from Channel Sampling at Timbakouna have returned encouraging results
- Infill soil sampling being completed at Timbakouna and other Central Siguiri Projects
- BLEG stream sediment sampling completed across recently acquired projects
DeSoto Resources Limited (ASX:DES) has announced further exploration results from its Central Siguiri and Timbakouna Projects in Guinea. At Timbakouna, channel sampling from within artisanal workings has returned encouraging results, including 2m @ 23.31g/t Au, 2.5m @ 3.57g/t Au, 1.3m @ 2.88g/t Au, and 1.3m @ 2.52g/t Au. Infill soil sampling is being planned in these areas to identify coherent zones for follow-up drill testing. Regional soil sampling has also been completed at Timbakouna, Dadjan, Tole, Koba, and Nerekoro Sud, with results confirming widespread mineralization and artisanal workings. At the Central Siguiri Projects, wide-spaced soil sampling has outlined 4km and 3.5km long zones of gold anomalism at Koba and Nerekoro Sud respectively, which are being infilled. The company has also completed BLEG stream sediment sampling across recently acquired projects including Yarakoura, Doutila, Branama, Dalaban, Woussoubadou, and Moussaya, covering over 687 sq km. Exploration is ongoing across 12 permits totaling over 1,200 sq km in the Siguiri Basin, one of the most prolific regions for active artisanal mining in West Africa.
