Strong Start to Diamond Drilling at Nanadie Project
- First diamond drillhole NANRCD004 completed to 629.1m depth
- Visible chalcopyrite (copper sulphide) logged in multiple zones
- Sulphide concentrations consistent with nearby RC drilling
Solstice Minerals has completed the first diamond drillhole, NANRCD004, at its 100%-owned Nanadie Copper-Gold Project in Western Australia. The diamond tail was drilled to extend Reverse Circulation (RC) hole NANRC004, which previously intersected 62m @ 1.55% Cu, 0.66g/t Au including 22m @ 2.78% Cu, 1.25g/t Au. Geological logging has identified visible chalcopyrite (copper sulphide) in multiple zones downhole, predominantly as disseminations, fabric-parallel veinlets and cross-cutting sulphide veins. The sulphide concentrations are comparable to those logged in the company's nearby Phase 1 RC drillholes. The diamond drilling program is planned to comprise around 10 tails for approximately 2,000m of core. Geological logging and core processing is continuing ahead of sampling, with laboratory results expected in 5-6 weeks. An RC rig is also operating at the project, drilling a 10,000m Phase 2 program of step-out exploration, Mineral Resource delineation, and 'pre-collar' holes designated for diamond tails.
The diamond drilling program is expected to comprise around 10 tails for 2,000m of core, with the opportunity to extend and follow-up all higher-grade copper-gold intercepts at or near previous end of hole positions. The Phase 2 RC drilling program of 10,000m is also progressing, with the goal of significantly growing the Mineral Resource Estimate through wide open down-dip, lateral and strike extensions.
