Ore Sorting Demonstrates Excellent Results at Heemskirk
- Excellent ore sorting results with 84.7% tin recovery and 64.2% mass rejection
- Potential to reduce capital expenditure and operating costs through smaller plant size and lower processing volumes
- Variability test work indicates ore sorting is applicable across the entire Severn Deposit
Stellar Resources Limited (ASX: SRZ) is pleased to report highly encouraging results from ore sorting testwork at the Severn deposit of its Heemskirk Tin Project in Western Tasmania. The testwork, conducted on six variability samples from recent Severn drilling, demonstrated excellent results with an average 84.7% tin recovery and 64.2% mass rejection. A high-grade product was generated, where the head grade increased to 1.65% Sn from 0.70% Sn average (2.4 x uplift). When combining the high and medium grade product streams, a 95.3% tin recovery was achieved with a 33.1% mass rejection, providing an average 1.4 x uplift of head grade to 0.99% Sn. The results indicate the potential to reduce capital expenditure and operating costs through a smaller plant size and lower processing volumes. Variability test work also shows ore sorting is applicable across the entire Severn Deposit. The Prefeasibility Study (PFS) currently underway will investigate how best to apply ore sorting to the Heemskirk Tin Project, including reducing capital and operating costs, increasing metal production, and enabling grade streaming strategies.
The company has not provided any high-importance, price-sensitive forward-looking financial metrics in this announcement.
