Downer Secures Massive $3 Billion Defence Contract
Downer EDI Limited, a long-standing partner of the Australian Defence Force, has been awarded a colossal new contract worth $3.05 billion. The 6-year deal, with options to extend up to 10 years, will see Downer provide base and estate services across New South Wales, the ACT, and Queensland.
This significant contract builds on Downer's 80-year history of supporting the Australian military. The company will be responsible for a wide range of services, including facilities maintenance, aerodrome operations, land management, and training area management. Downer's extensive supply chain of over 900 small and medium enterprises will help drive efficiencies and improve environmental outcomes across the 30-plus major Defence bases under its care.
GQG Partners Reports Robust Funds Under Management
In other news, global investment manager GQG Partners Inc. has reported impressive Funds Under Management (FUM) of US$167.6 billion as of August 31, 2025. This represents a healthy increase from the US$166.6 billion reported a month earlier.
GQG's year-to-date net flows have reached a solid US$4.9 billion, with the company's International Equity and U.S. Equity strategies seeing positive inflows. While the Global Equity and Emerging Markets Equity strategies experienced some outflows, GQG's overall FUM growth demonstrates the firm's continued success in attracting investor capital.

Infrastructure services provider Ventia has also been awarded a significant boost to its Defence business, securing two Base Services Transformation (BST) packages worth approximately $2.7 billion. The initial 6-year term, with extension options up to 10 years, will see Ventia deliver Living and Working Services in the Northern Territory, Victoria, and Tasmania, as well as Property and Asset Services in Western Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania.
This announcement further strengthens Ventia's position as a trusted partner to the Australian Defence Force, building on its 36-year history of providing integrated infrastructure and asset management support. The company's recognition as Base Services Contractor of the Year 2024 and Veteran Employer of Choice reflects its commitment to service excellence and supporting Defence personnel.

The deal, with a leading UAE healthcare provider, will see EPX improve energy efficiency and deliver cost and CO2 savings for the client.
This contract represents EPX's continued expansion into new market verticals, building on its strong presence in the UAE. The company's recent accreditations as an Energy Supply Company and Building Energy Management provider have positioned it well to capitalize on opportunities in the growing healthcare sector.
