Nanoveu Expands Drone Capabilities with Spinoff Robotics Acquisition
Nanoveu Ltd, a technology company specializing in advanced semiconductor and materials sciences, has made a strategic move to bolster its drone capabilities. The company has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Spinoff Robotics, a Singapore-based deep-tech company that develops proprietary drone platforms.
This acquisition will add two validated technologies to Nanoveu's portfolio - the ALICE tethered drone and the METRON sub-millimetre photogrammetry system. Crucially, it will also bring in-house engineering expertise to design and build next-generation drones. By combining Nanoveu's ECS-DoT edge AI silicon with Spinoff's aerial robotics expertise, the company will be able to unlock better on-device intelligence and flight responsiveness for its drone solutions.
The acquisition positions Nanoveu to target high-value defence, surveillance, and critical infrastructure applications, where conventional drone technologies have been constrained. The company will prioritize integrating its technologies to deliver fully-owned drone platforms purpose-built for each target market.
